Speak Walking

Alliance Française, Hike NS and their partners are organizing on Sunday April 6 the 2nd iteration of the “Speak-Walking” at the Emera Oval to walk and talk around the Halifax Commons between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM. This event celebrates the United Nations International Day of Sport for Development and Peace through Education and Culture while promoting multilingualism and unity.

Everyone is welcome no matter the mobility level or age, the idea is to walk and to do sport while practising a mother tongue or foreign-language. During the event participants will be invited to switch walking/talking partners every 10 minutes or so if that is something they are comfortable with. This is a fun way to socialize and lightheartedly practice whatever French they may have - or to get your steps in if they speak any other language!

This is a free activity - but please let them know if you'd like to participate by registering. Event program and link to register: https://afhalifax.ca/events/?eventId=786#/  [media release here]
